About the Microphone:
Upgrade the audio quality in your video productions by switching from the built-in mic on your camera to the Sennheiser MKE 600 battery- or phantom-powered shotgun microphone.
The MKE 600's high sensitivity and low-noise circuitry unlock improved sound quality without extreme gain on noisy camera preamps. With a natural roll-off at 40 Hz and a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz, the MKE 600 can deliver clear intelligibility while attenuating low-frequency noise such as rumble. Plus, its frequency response incorporates a gentle rise in treble to enhance speech clarity.
The lightweight and durable metal housing ensures reliable toughness without weighing down your rig. The included shoe shockmount accommodates mounting the MKE 600 to a camera or tripod. Connect the mic's XLR output to an XLR-equipped mic preamp or use the supplied adapter cable to plug it into the 3.5mm mic input on a camera.
Quality Sound
The 10" long MKE 600 uses an interference tube and a supercardioid/lobar polar pattern to provide pronounced directivity on-axis along with significant attenuation of sound entering at the sides and rear, making the MKE 600 far more effective at capturing distant sources than the omnidirectional mics found in most cameras.
Shockmount The Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount features a four-point suspension to accommodate shotgun and other cylindrical microphones measuring 0.74-0.98" (19-25mm) in diameter. The shockmount is easily angled with its rubberized adjustment knob. There is a built-in shoe for camera mounting, and a 3/8"-16 thread connection at the base mounts the shockmount to boompoles and universal handgrips.
Windshield The Auray WSS Series Professional Windshield delivers superior 360° wind protection with acoustic transparency. They are engineered for dramatic reduction of unwanted broadband wind noise and vocal pops with very little high frequency loss, for exceptionally accurate recordings. This WSS-2014 Professional Windshield has an inside depth of 5.5" and is designed for use with many shotgun microphones. It features a specially manufactured open-cell foam matrix surrounded by a layer of 25mm thick simulated rabbit fur. This diffusion technology lowers wind velocity in a controlled air space around the microphone, thereby reducing wind noise without muffling the sound. It also features an airtight tapered rubber base that seals out wind from the rear of the microphone, greatly improving isolation and rear wind protection. When used on a shotgun microphone, this slip-on windshield is effective in minimizing wind noise and plosive sounds. It is most effective in light breeze to strong breeze conditions (4 to 25 mph) and users can generally expect a 24 to 40 dB reduction in wind noise with negligible dampening of high frequencies. For most applications, the negligible high-frequency dampening is a worthwhile exchange for the dramatic wind noise reduction. In addition to superior 360° wind protection, the WSS-2014 helps prevent moisture and dirt from damaging your microphone. Boompole The K-Tek KE-89CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole provides a moderately priced, lightweight boompole solution for ENG, EFP, and other field recording applications. Its sturdy aluminum design is tough enough to endure the rigors of road use, while remaining lightweight and travel-worthy. This pole features an internal coiled cable and an XLR connection at the base of the pole. A total of four aluminum sections telescope between 2' 5" to 7' 6" and will easily store in any standard equipment case.
